Why We Created Women in Planning

Starting a community like Women in Planning was not just a choice; it was a need. I have seen firsthand how women in planning and tech face unique challenges. These challenges often go unnoticed or unaddressed. That’s why we built a space where women can grow, lead, and connect with others who share their passion and drive.

The Need for a Dedicated Community

Women in planning and tech often work in environments where they are underrepresented. This can lead to feelings of isolation and missed opportunities for mentorship and collaboration. We wanted to change that by creating a community that supports professional growth and leadership.

Many women told us they wanted a place to share experiences, learn new skills, and find role models. We listened. Women in Planning aims to be that place a global network where women can find encouragement and resources to shape the future of their industries.

How We Support Growth and Leadership

Building leadership skills and advancing careers requires more than just hard work. It needs access to knowledge, tools, and connections. That’s why we recommend services like The Room, a platform that pairs emerging planners with experienced leaders. This service offers personalised guidance and helps women build confidence in their roles.

Another valuable resource is TechPath Workshops in our WIP Digital, which provide hands on training in the latest planning and tech tools. These workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible, helping women stay ahead in fast-changing fields.

By integrating these services into our community, we create a supportive environment where women can learn and lead with confidence.

Building Connections That Matter

Networking is key to professional success. Women in Planning offers regular meetups and online forums where members can connect, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. These connections often lead to new opportunities and partnerships.

We also highlight inspiring stories from women who have made significant impacts in planning and tech. These stories show what is possible and motivate others to pursue their goals.

One example is the Future Leaders Conference, an annual event that brings together women from around the world. It features talks, panels, and workshops focused on leadership and innovation. This event has become a cornerstone of our community, helping women build lasting relationships.

Why It Matters to Me

Creating Women in Planning is personal. I have experienced the challenges of being a woman in a male dominated field. I know how important it is to have support and encouragement. This community is about lifting each other up and making sure no one feels alone.

Our goal is clear: to become the leading global community for women in planning and tech. We want to help women grow professionally, take on leadership roles, and work together to shape the future of these industries.

If you want to be part of a community that supports your growth and leadership, Women in Planning is here for you. Together, we can build a future where women lead with confidence and make a real impact.
